Receiving and using your licence

When you have submitted your documentation to one of the national Nordic Ecolabelling organisations, you will be contacted by an adviser in that country for an evaluation. When all documentation is in order, we will book an on-sight audit and check that the production is in line with what is described in your documentation.

If things appear to be in order, a technical review of your application will be initiated.

When your application has passed the technical review and the last administrative details have been handled, you will be granted your licence.

Having obtained the licence means that you can start using the Nordic Swan Ecolabel on your product or in relation with your service. Here you will find the Marketing and Graphical guidelines for the Nordic Swan Ecolabel.

Usually, your national Nordic Ecolabelling organisation will spend 2 to 6 months to process your application. If the processing time takes longer, this is normally because documentation is lacking. Your application is valid for one year, and after this, it will be cancelled if all relevant documentation is not received. You are always welcome to submit a new application.
