Nordic Ecolabelling and the Sustainable living programme

Between 2020 – 2024, Nordic Ecolabelling, who is responsible for the Nordic Swan Ecolabel, has been an active part in the Sustainable living programme, run by the Nordic Council of Ministers.

The purpose of the programme is to make it easier to live sustainably in the Nordic region. It is a part of the Nordic Council of Ministers vision for 2030:

"The Nordic Region shall become the most sustainable region in the world."

During the four years that Nordic Ecolabelling has been a part of the programme, we have had three focus areas: digitalization, communication and product development.

The objective has been to make it easier to live sustainable in the Nordic region by using our core strengths:

• our overall mission to be a guide to the environmentally best products and services,
• our high recognition – 98% of the northerners recognise the label,
• and our position as a trustworthy ecolabel, covering a wide range of areas.
